Our clinical content is written by Envaste Medical Affairs and, for urology, independently checked by a practising consultant urologist. This page explains who produces our clinical guides, how we source them, and who reviews them.

How we produce clinical content

The clinical guides in our Clinical Procedures knowledge centre are authored by Envaste Medical Affairs, the in-house team responsible for the clinical accuracy of our educational material. Content is drawn from current clinical practice guidelines (such as the EAU and AUA guidelines), peer-reviewed literature, and the validated Instructions for Use (IFU) for our devices.

This material is intended for healthcare professionals as an educational and reference resource. It does not constitute medical advice, and it does not replace applicable institutional protocols, national guidelines, or a clinician's own judgement. Product specifications are provided for information only — the relevant IFU remains the definitive source for any device.

Independent medical review

Each clinical guide is reviewed by an independent, practising specialist in the relevant field — a consultant urologist for our urology guides and a consultant gastroenterologist for our GI endoscopy guides — to check that the clinical statements reflect current evidence and practice.

Dr. Vincent Khor is a urologist with a sub-specialty interest in Uro-Oncology and is currently training to become an academic urologist. He graduated with an MBBS from Manipal University, India, in 2013, and began his career as a house and medical officer in Malaysia and Singapore. In 2015, he passed the Intercollegiate MRCS examination from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, furthering his basic surgical training and solidifying his passion for urology. He obtained a Master of Surgery (ChM) in Urology from the University of Edinburgh in 2019. Subsequently, he completed his urology specialty training in Malaysia in November 2024, under the Malaysian Board of Urology, and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in Urology from Glasgow, UK.

Dr. Vincent is also an alumnus of Harvard Medical School, having completed the Global Clinical Scholar Research Training programme in 2023. He is a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Penang Youth 2024 Award, a recognition highlighting his contributions to the community and his profession, and was the first Malaysian to receive a scholarship for a short clinical visit from the European Association of Urology.

Dr. Vincent's research interests include prostate cancer diagnostics, robotic surgery, and focal therapy. He is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance patient care, exemplified by his development of an app to track ureteral stents in his institution. He has played a central role in establishing the MRI-US fusion prostate biopsy service and the prostate cancer focal therapy service at Universiti Putra Malaysia Teaching Hospital.

Dr Ignacio Catalán-Serra is a consultant gastroenterologist with a sub-specialty focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He qualified in Medicine and Surgery (MD) at the University of Valencia, Spain, and trained across Europe and the United States — including periods at the University of Mainz and an ERASMUS fellowship in Bonn (Germany), and postgraduate training in the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, under Prof. David B. Sachar. He was awarded his PhD (Excellent cum laude) in Medicine from the University of Valencia in 2016, for a thesis on the role of gammadelta T lymphocytes in Crohn's disease.

He was a consultant in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Hospital Arnau de Vilanova (Spain) and an Associate Professor at the University of Valencia before moving to Norway in 2014, where he has worked as a consultant gastroenterologist (overlege) and pursued research at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), including a post-doctoral fellowship at its Centre of Molecular Inflammation Research (CEMIR). He is currently affiliated with Akershus University Hospital (AHUS), Oslo, and NTNU.

Dr Catalán-Serra serves on the UEG (United European Gastroenterology) Education Committee and is a co-founder of YOGI-IBD, an international network for young IBD specialists. His clinical and research interests centre on inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and translational immunology.
